I am looking for a (hopefully free) ultra ATA laptop harddrive that could work in an ancient Apple iBook. 10GB or bigger would be great, 30gigs or more preferred. If you happen to have one of those floating around and it has some life left in it, please let me know.

I have a dead ibook with a 30 gig drive you’re welcome to try. don’tknow why it’s dead- the hd could be ok…
I have a 60G drive you can have. I’ve formatted it, so I know it’s working OK. I’ll bring it to GG next week and let you have at it.
Thanks Guys, I will try the 60GB first, give the larger size and the known stats.
After successfully transplanting the 60GB drive, the screen died. I guess that’s it for this almost 7 year-old machine. At least I was able to use the 60GB drive in an older “Lombard” PowerBook, which actually predates the iBook by a couple of years.
