There now is a Geek Gather Twitter account setup. This will be used for announcements of events, blog postings, etc. Simply follow http://twitter.com/geekgather and you will receive posts. This will require you have a Twitter account, but come on already, all the cool kids are doing it.
I am looking for suggestions and feedback as to what to post and current thoughts are the following:
Event announcements
Links to member blog posts
Other news pertinent to the GG crowd
If you want to post something to the Geek Gather account, please contact me out-of-band for info.
Geeks,
I’ll use the opportunity to announce that my new company, TE Studio, is now open for business. You may find details on what we do at www.timeian.com. There is also a blog at www.blog.timeian.com that I am looking to slowly populate as I move forward. The main focus of TE Studio will be something called Passive House design, a standard that is just now coming to the US from Europe, which promises to cut up to 90% of the space heating and cooling energy. It is the highest certified low energy standard available today. I look forward to your comments.
It is time once again for our dodeciannual celebration of Strawberry Lemonade! That’s right, another Geek Gather is upon us. If we’re lucky, Dawn may grace us with stories from far-away lands. A strange place where…well…other than Dawn and her family, I’m not entirely sure what’s there. In fact, I’m not even sure those far-away lands actually exist. Has anyone other than Dawn actually been to them?

Bruce Parens is up for a seat on the OSI (Open Source Initiative) board. You can read more about them at http://opensource.org/, but the short version is that they help educate and advocate the benefits of Open Source. They also act as a standards body to maintain the Open Source Definition — basically the traits that make up what Open Source is.
Please read up on the subject, then go sign the petition so that he may be elected to the OSI board.
Team etherdust has been busy too — although not as busy as Team Trixie!
I just launched a new photoblog site called myTwinCities. It will host my Twin Cities photography (not concerts) and hopefully garner the occasional print sale.
The domain name was pure luck, it was just available when I thought to check its status.
Patrick, now you know why your tag-cloud bio idea wouldn’t work.
For those of you who’d like to join me, feel free to come over and watch today’s keynote at my house. I am shooting for 7.30PM. You can email me to get directions. If you are hungry or thirsty, please bring something to share.
